The Knokke-based Grain Designoffice tells every element of the client's story. The branding and interior design office designs various projects and concepts down to the smallest detail. Given their new partnership with Imagicasa, which allows us to regularly amaze our readers with Grain’s projects, we are happy to introduce them to you.
Grain Design Office has a very diverse offering combining interior and graphic design, enabling them to provide a total design of projects and concepts every time. The office was founded almost five years ago by graphic designer Sander Bullynck and interior architect Nick De Moor out of a common interest in a new challenge. Both designers complement each other beautifully in their projects, creating a timeless simplicity every time. Grain likes to play with the material palette and often brings different materials together. They regularly combine metal and wood in their interiors, which creates a contemporary and refined, yet playful look. The agency is therefore known for designs with an exclusive and elegant character. Sleek, but cosy and with a refined finish and quality materials. They extend their style into both interiors and branding, aligning them to reinforce the story they are telling.
The graphic designer and interior architect compliment each other.
Sander Bullynck describes their style as such: ‘Italian wabi-sabi maybe? Understated luxury, warm minimalism, ... We certainly don't like clean, but we don't like too raw either. We like to walk a line that balances somewhere in between to surprise and amaze again and again. We focus very much on a strong architectural layout and flow with beautiful perspectives and views. We purge and then add. For this, we like to use warm and sometimes even cheaper materials such as brutal steel in such a way that it becomes exclusive again. We then combine them with clearly more high-end materials, fine details, an expressive colour, ... Contrasts reinforce each other without having to clash.’ With spoke with the co-founder of the unique design studio on the occasion of their new partnership. You will very soon be able to read our full interview in the newest issue of Imagicasa Magazine (Imagicasa Spring 2021). Keep an eye out for it and for the many other interesting projects by Grain Design Office which we are sure to share with you!
