Kanagawa, a home on the coastline of Australia's South East Queensland, was designed by Joe Adsett Architects. The luxury project features high ceilings, an open living room and a spacious courtyard to make the most of the narrow location and to maximise the impressive ocean views.

The choice of materials played an important role in the design of this house.
Kanagawa is one of their latest residential concepts. The new building is located on an impressive piece of land on the coastline of South East Queensland in Australia. The property offers stunning views of the white sand beaches of Miami Beach and the ocean horizon of the Gold Coast. The design concept took shape with the idea of celebrating the ocean views through an open living room and large open spaces in the rest of the house. The central courtyard and high ceilings give the relatively narrow site the necessary volume and relief. The choice of materials played an important role in the design of this house. Joe Adsett Architects opted for concrete and porcelain, durable and robust materials that can withstand the rough coastal environment. The interior palette is neutral and brought to life by textures, natural lighting and thoughtful planting.
