- Interior
It is now well known that we at Imagicasa are big fans of Norm Architects. That's why we are happy to show you another beautiful project by the Danish studio: Sandbjerg Residence, in which rural charm is combined with contemporary sophistication.
For the private Sandbjerg Residence, Norm Architects went north of their hometown of Copenhagen to the beautiful Zealand, Denmark's largest island. The house is surrounded by forests and meadows and is located in a secluded corner with trees which creates an intimate atmosphere that is also continued in the interior. Partly enclosed by trees, the house also opens to a beautiful, park-like garden that provides light and air in the house. The owners of the Sandbjerg residence like to entertain guests. Some ideal extras to this spacious, open house are the swimming pool, tennis court and the adjoining greenhouse.
The carefully selected decorative objects and details provide the perfect finish.
Outside, the residence looks like a typical traditional Danish country house with a matte, taupe-coloured limestone facade, paned windows, thatched roof and granite stone finishes. Inside, the rural and cosy atmosphere continues partly, but in a contemporary, sophisticated style. The rooms are warm and balanced with rough textures and deliberate details. The same tactile material palette as outside continues here with wood, stone, natural textiles and leather. The monochrome spaces seem to merge seamlessly with each other and although the interior is very minimalistic, the carefully selected decorative objects and details provide the perfect finish. This beautiful residence has been given an elegant and sculptural character. Both indoors and outdoors, Norm Architects chose the finest and most natural materials, most of which are of local origin. With the Sandbjerg Residence, the designers created a warm, minimalistic home with the perfect combination of rural charm and contemporary sophistication.
