When renovating this old farmhouse, JUMA Architects focused on an appropriate combination of the home's authentic elements with a contemporary yet timeless interior. The final design exudes elegance and sophistication. We'd love to show you more.
Julie van De Keere and Mathieu Luyens founded their own architectural firm, JUMA Architects, in 2009 and have already completed many beautiful projects together. Functional interiors that are beautiful, sustainable and evoke emotions in the client, that is the company's mission. It is an ambitious mission that JUMA fulfills with flying colors, as we see in this home. 
Because some rooms were last used as offices, a number of adjustments had to be made to the structure of the home. The former office spaces were transformed into cosy living rooms, and the original entrance was relocated. To separate the office from the current entrance, vertical wooden slats were placed behind a natural stone block, as was a raised dark poly concrete floor. Finally, the architects also retained the ceiling beams in this space, adding warmth to the interior.
A modern interior that immediately inspires and gives a zen feeling.
To increase the surface area of the kitchen, the second staircase was demolished. The kitchen with an island has a beautiful view of the garden and a cosy L-shaped seating area where you can enjoy breakfast. Thanks to white curtains it is fortunately not too hot inside on sunny days. Even on the upper floor, with bedrooms and two bathrooms, natural light has been considered. Special high windows were installed in the children's bathroom. The grey tones and clean lines create a very modern interior that immediately inspires and gives a zen feeling. In the bedroom, the high ceiling is a real asset. The wooden beams give the room an authentic feel. 
The light tones, warm wood accents and dark details make this home a place to immediately unwind. JUMA clearly succeeded in its mission here, because the interior evokes only positive feelings in us.
