Hollie Bowden's projects have a sober, artistic feel that is interspersed with antique and vintage finds. The London-based designer considers herself a minimal-maximalist and has worked with high-level clients. Imagicasa takes you to one of her latest projects in Ibiza.
Hollie Bowden is an interior designer who works in both residential and commercial projects. In 2013, she established her own multi-disciplinary studio and has done nothing but create admirable interior designs. She provides various services, from design advice to renovations. Even though she has only become a household name in the design world at the age of 30, it is no coincidence when you look at her aesthetic approach.
A passion for the extraordinary
Her most recent project, San Carlos, takes its name from the small village in the quiet corner of Ibiza known for its laid-back lifestyle. Here the designer was tasked with renovating an estate and guest villas, comprising eight en-suite bedrooms, as well as a gym, sauna and cinema. Surrounded by tropical gardens, Bowden's designed interiors exude comfort and unexpected grandeur, highlighting natural materials, antiques and the work of local craftsmen. The designer met the client through mutual friends, who admired her restrained but unexpected aesthetic. The clients gave her a very simple brief for the project, which was to create a beautiful and serene environment that felt relaxed and homely and in keeping with the atmosphere of the Spanish island. "A key issue we discussed from the start was replacing all the doors," Bowden explains. "We had to change certain architectural features, to bring it back to the older Finca style," we hear. A unique state of tranquillity pervades the Balearic farmhouse. In every house that London interior designer Hollie Bowden revives, sculptural anecdotes from all corners of the globe unite to create a sense of serenity. This latest project from the designer, a bohemian traditional eight-bedroom holiday home in the south-west of Ibiza, is no exception. Imagicasa sees a beautiful evolution of her work year by year and looks forward to what the future may bring for Hollie Bowden. Images courtesy of Hollie Bowden
