An unforgettable holiday in a paradisiacal setting. That's what Vora Villa has to offer, a new boutique hotel in Imerovigli on the Greek island of Santorini. This is already a popular destination for those looking for sun, tranquility and a unique environment and this hotel even takes it one step further.
Located on the edge of the volcanic rock and with a beautiful view of the sunset and the islands in the caldera of Santorini, Vora Villa is truly one of the most unique hotels we have written about. The three villas that belong to the hotel are partly located in caves, giving a real feeling of warmth and security. Because it consists of several levels, from each terrace and from each of the three accommodations you have an undisturbed and enchanting view of the surroundings, so you can also fully enjoy the openness and freedom you experience here.
An innovative solution to get the best out of the special location
The steep slope did create some challenges in the construction, layout and design of the hotel and the rooms. However, the Greek design agency K-Studio managed to overcome these and created three separate and unique villas. These are simple and compact, yet dynamically designed. In addition, each villa consists of two floors to separate the living and sleeping areas from each other while maintaining the connection with the surroundings and ensuring sufficient light. The villas have been arranged in such a way that guests can fully enjoy the sunset, but at the same time always be assured of their privacy.
Connection with the surroundings and yet be assured of your privacy
The two main elements that influenced the design concept were the volcanic rock and the traditional local vernicular. To preserve the dramatic aspect of the location, the natural rock was used to form pathways and partitions. This material is complimented by the use of charred wood and blackened gun-metal. These in turn are contrasted by the characteristic white lime wash finish of the façades and walls, other light stones and pale linens to give the interior a calming atmosphere.
