- Interior
An apartment with a complex layout and the requirement to create as much space as possible: it was an interesting task for the Swiss architectural studio Art Partner. This residence in Chengdu, China formed a lovely challenge for the team, resulting in an inspiring outcome.
Each of the studio’s projects is dealt with in a personalised way. Of course, the client’s wishes are taken into account, so that every interior gets its own, unique style. Meanwhile, the team has built up experience in several countries. In this apartment, they perfectly managed to combine functionality with beautiful aesthetics, obtaining a consistent whole that also has character. Art Partner believes that good design positively influences our lives, and we fully agree with that.
Because the apartment is situated in a city with often gray weather, light tones were opted for. Upon entering the residence, you immediately see the living space, so it was very important that the latter was impressive from the start. Materials were kept to a minimum, so as not to create excess in the central area. Because the client wanted an interesting and unusual interior, the sofa and armchairs are placed in a special composition.
The minimalist, warm style is used throughout the whole residence
The bedroom is not very large, but it feels spacious thanks to the abundance of natural light and bright materials. The minimalist style was carried through to the bedroom, giving each element not only an aesthetic but also a practical function. Plastics and synthetic fabrics were omitted, and natural materials were preferred instead. As a result, this beautiful, comfortable space gives you a sense of lightness and harmony. In line with the previous rooms, the bathroom was also decorated in natural, light colours. However, the mirror and accent tiles do stand out, offering an interesting effect. In addition to extensive storage space, the bathroom has ample lighting and sublime decorative trims. As the room has many indirect corners, it was difficult to place furniture. Therefore, a built-in shelf was chosen. Finally, the separate office has the ideal location, with a nice view over the city. The golden accents in the bookcase add a special touch to the room.
What makes this apartment so interesting is that the minimalist, warm style is used throughout the whole residence. The layout of all the rooms was clearly well thought out, resulting in a beautiful, serene result. We are convinced that this home will make its occupants very happy.
