A complex of two houses, designed by the local architectural firm L Architects, resulted in a private holiday home on the Greek island of Kefalonia. Together with the harmonious and stylish interior, this place will definitely be on your wish list!
LArchitects is an architectural firm based in Kefalonia and was founded in 2004 by Afroditi and Julia Lefkaditi. Their ambition is to create minimal living spaces that enrich life. Each approach is holistic and sensitive, both inside and out, requiring strong skills and an ability to adapt, but also a respect for culture and the surrounding environment. The architects see themselves more as designers of experiences than as conventional architects. We take you to one of their recent projects called Gaia where every element of the design comes together within a clear concept and successfully presents the identity of the client.
The soothing and familiar atmosphere will bring you complete relaxation.
This special project called Gaia House is located on a wooded hill, surrounded by olive trees in Lourdas, a town in the south of Kefalonia with an endless view of the Ionian Sea. Gaia comprises a design of two independent summer houses, using local materials and furniture pieces that exude strength through their simplicity. The aim of this Greek architectural design was to create a soothing and familiar atmosphere with shapes that follow their function, using the view and the pool as an eye-catcher to encourage guests to enjoy outdoor living. In addition, the kitchen and all living areas give direct access to the outdoor environment with the wooden pergola, while the bedrooms are situated on either side of the house for more privacy. The interior is predominantly covered in earth tones to integrate with the natural surroundings of the area. There is also beige-grey cement mortar which was the main material used for the walls to balance with the grey tiled floors. For the natural materials, LArchitects used wood and the choice of earthy tones in all the furniture and living areas to design warm, comfortable and welcoming open spaces ready to receive guests. The furniture chosen by interior stylist Anestis Michalis follows the same idea of serenity and, in addition to functionality, offers the feeling of warm summer living in peace. Ideal to relax, become totally zen and enjoy the Greek sun in this luxurious villa.
