- Interior
Inspiration for your interiors can be found anywhere, but social media offer a particularly good starting point. That is also the experience of Tendens Studio, which finds ideas for new projects on all kinds of platforms and brings them together in visualisations. Two elements clearly emerge in these: a love for the japandi style and a return to nature.
His deep fascination with interior design led Rasmus Buchmann to found Tendens Studio in 2022. According to the designer, the choices in your home allow you to express your personality. Nothing is therefore more important than thinking carefully about how your interior looks and which impressions are created. In his spare time, he enjoys working on projects that are mainly for inspiration. When he comes across new interior design ideas on social media like Pinterest or Instagram, he tries to turn them into reality with visualisations. In doing so, he mainly looks for the perfect combination between aesthetics and functionality.
The details in each new trend make the designer explore another style
Buchmann likes to be inspired by the evolutions in the design world. It is the details in each new trend that pique his interest and make him explore another style. Little things like specific shapes give him fresh ideas and an innovative design vision for his next project. It is a process he really enjoys: finding inspiration, gathering ideas, and putting them together to form a perfect puzzle. ‘Everyone is inspired by each other, and that is how trends in design follow one another,’ he says.
These two projects show what the designer himself loves: off-white and beige tones and wood to create a beautiful contrast between walls and furniture. The japandi style, a mix of Japanese and Scandinavian design, can be found in many of his projects. The minimalist approach with clean lines and a focus on simplicity and form are a good way to keep an interior neutral. Choosing wooden furniture pieces always adds extra warmth. Another trend emerging especially in Denmark, which Tendens Studio is studying, is a return to nature in interiors. Steel is an important material in that style. As a result, this second trend is very different from the first, although a minimalist vision and a strong focus on functionality are once again central. Tendens Studio designs interiors that move with the times, without giving the idea that they can only last for a short period of time. In each project, the designer manages to insert enough warmth and neutrality, making it the perfect base for any home.
