- Interior
The Airbus A340 is a luxury private jet owned by a Middle Eastern royal and goes above and beyond all the aircraft interiors you've already seen. It is a true 'modern and stylish residence in the air'.
British designer Celia Sawyer's interiors always look rich and daring with her dramatic and extravagant decoration and deep, often dark colours. This distinctive style is immediately recognisable in the private aircraft that she designed: the Airbus A340, in which the airplane interior is taken to a whole new level.
"A modern and stylish residence in the sky"
The aircraft was furnished for the customer and his family with many private rooms and also plenty of options for entertaining business guests. And all this while they travel around the world. The master suite was given a generous blue colour and sumptuous details. In the middle is a king-sized bed surrounded by a hand-stitched crocodile leather headboard. Then there is a modern bathroom with a Swarovski crystal and glass basin and a bath in blue marble. We go from blue to another royal colour: gold in the salon. The whole living space is covered in golden details and furniture and there are two crystal chandeliers with accents of 24k gold. With the added round bar it almost looks like you're in a chic private club. Throughout the interior, Sawyer used a lot of velvet and leather, which also gives it a rich touch. "The last thing I wanted was a too garish or boring interior. The customer's brief was that it should have the 'wow' factor," says Sawyer. And it certainly has! The entire interior design of the private jet exudes extravagant glamour. The perfect design for a royal.
